Japanese high school seems to be about what I expected from what I had previously heard about Japan. The rules here in America were strict but were not really enforced. It seems that both students and teachers work harder in Japan than in America.

Japanese Valentine's day is no different from American holidays. Modern society has been misled into believing that arbitrary celebrations and gift giving is an important part of culture when in reality it destroys culture. Millions of brain dead consumers converge on shopping centers every time Hershey's or Hallmark tells them to and then spend copious amounts of money on products that support the enslavement of indigenous people and destroy the environment. Yeah, hooray for plastic flowers and doodads and greeting cards that sing.
